Welcome to the AASU SAACS Web-site!

The AASU chapter was founded in 1983 to promote exchange between students studying chemistry  at then Armstrong State College. SAACS is an American Chemical Society and AASU Chemistry and Physics Department affiliated student organization.

The membership of SAACS is open to all chemistry majors or those students with chemistry concentrations such as pre-pharmacy majors, chemical engineers and pre-med, pre-vet and pre-dent students.

UPCOMING EVENTS!

Oyster Roast.  March 30th 6:00 pm at Skidaway.  RSVP to Dr. MacGowan.

TUTOR CENTER TO OPEN JANUARY 16th.  SC 2302 will be staffed with a tutor for designated hours (up to 10 hours per week).  During those hours, SC 2302 will be reserved for quiet study and tutoring only.  Hours will be posted soon!  Additional volunteer tutors are still needed.   Email Dr. Nivens

We need to have elections for the 2007-2008 school year.  If you'd like to be more involved in SAACS and serve as an officer, please let Dr. Nivens know.  All positions (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will be open).

Upcoming END of year meeting to be scheduled soon--talk about end of year party and elections.

Don't forget to pay your dues and get your t-shirts!  Even if you paid last year, you still owe for local dues this year ($15).  This money goes to fund events like AASU day and other parties and trips as well as food for the meetings.

If you are a new student to AASU and plan to be a chemistry major, email Dr. Nivens ASAP so she can be sure to get you the information on how to join SAACS!
